Oliver is a bit under the weather with a very stuffy nose and slight fever (which developed later in the day). He insists “I am feeling well!” quite authoritatively one minute, then says, “I am not feeling well” with just as much conviction the next. And in between he’s asking for a “nosewipe” every 2.6 [...]

If you’re still reading after that gripping title, you know you are most assuredly in for some TMI. Last night, right before I went to bed, I stepped in a large pile of dog puke in the kitchen. Bubba was the lucky winner, though he has to be the quietest puking dog ever. We were [...]

Colds are no fun. Summer colds are just plain wrong. Sneezing and stuffy heads are more tolerable when it is cold and miserable outside. When it is bright, sunny and a little too warm? Wrong.
I’ve been feeling steadily worse all week. As usual, I feel worst on Friday and I’ll spend the weekend trying to [...]

Eveny day I discover more ways my children are not alike. Oliver asks for a “nose wipe” whether he needs one or not. Eleanor howls at the mere sight of a tissue.

Eleanor went to the Doc today. She hasn’t shaken the cold and this morning she refused to eat breakfast. Her appetite had been falling off all weekend, and this is a child who eats anything and everything. Of course, her nursing hasn’t fallen off one bit. At the moment, I am glad for that. At [...]

Lest this blog turn into a total whine-fest, here’s the quick and dirty:
Oliver’s cold is a little better.
Eleanor and I now have it, minus the fever so far.
Oliver went splat on pavement this weekend. Twice. Despite the sounds he made at the time, the only visible evidence is a bruise on one knee.
Easter was okay. [...]

Light posting today…it’s date night! So I need to clean up a bit before the sitter comes and clean myself up a bit too. I managed four consecutive days of showers and would really like to make it five. That could be a record since Eleanor arrived.
Oliver was well enough to go to school today. [...]

Oliver is still home from school. One thermometer says his temp is normal, and the other says it’s about 102. He didn’t sleep much last night (and I know this because, wait for it, I wasn’t sleeping either!) so I thought it was a good idea to keep him home again, if only because I [...]

Oliver had a slight temp when I picked him up at school yesterday. He had a cough and sniffles too. By bedtime, though he was acting normally his temp was 102.1. I kept him home today, though the temp was gone and he just had the cough and runny nose (which was clear). We had [...]

Tuesdays are starting to be my least favorite day of the week. CD tends to have a late conference call. (His group of co-workers are all 3 hours behind us so it’s the middle of the afternoon for them.) Sometimes he comes home first, which means he sees the kids for about 10 minutes before [...]
